The Nucleus 7 is a behind the ear sound processor designed by Blue Sky. It is the smallest, lightest and only “made for iPhone” behind-the-ear cochlear implant sound processor.

With user feedback contributing to the product’s development, The Nucleus 7 Sound Processor is 25 per cent smaller and 24 per cent lighter than Cochlear’s previous generation Nucleus 6 Sound Processor. The device has been designed to give recipients maximum comfort and flexibility. Ease of use, a high level of functionality, attractive appearance and compatibility with the environment to help manage their hearing loss on a daily basis.

The product was designed with a variety of battery sizes including super compact lithium ion and convenience focused Zinc Air versions. Innovative features such as removable microphone covers, infant battery lock, and a suite of custom accessories for pediatrics result in a product system that meets the needs of all user types.

Being a wearable product, colour and finish is an important consideration for Cochlear users. Providing options that were either discrete or expressive depending on the users choice was an important consideration in the design of the product. Blue Sky worked closely with Cochlear to develop a selection of product colourways which range from subtle maize and grey colours through to more expressive white and black/gold.
