The Zip HydroTap, designed and engineered by Blue Sky, dispenses freshly filtered boiling and chilled water at the touch of of the finger so you can make perfect tasting tea and coffee in an instant. In a typical office where a kettle is boiled on average every twenty minutes HydroTap can save over an hour of working time each day.

The compact and elegant design of the HydroTap is totally in keeping with a modern kitchen environments. With its unique Tap Font, available as an optional extra, it can be installed either at the sink or on a work top where drainage is available. The boiling, chilling and filtration unit fits neatly out of sight under the sink or work top. The Zip Hydrotap is safer and more convenient than a kettle with cold and boiling water on demand.

The product required careful study of the products ergonomics, as safety is critical for products that dispense boiling water. Equipped with a safety lock that requires two-finger adult operation, HydroTap is much safer than a kettle, and eliminates other Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) concerns associated with overturned kettles or trailing leads.

When it comes to energy saving, HydroTap excels. Independent tests conducted by Aston University in the UK show that HydroTap is up to 40% more energy efficient than a kettle. In addition, there is a choice of two sleep modes which can be set automatically to power down the unit when not in use – making even further savings.

The product has sold both locally and internationally for Zip and continues to hold a majority market share in the category.
