Blue Sky worked with Hill Thalis Architecture + Urban Projects to develop the wayfinding design for the highly awarded Campbelltown Council multilevel carpark.

Designed as a catalyst for future development, the building incorporates generous ground-floor heights to enable future retail and café activation along Farrow Road and adjoining streets. Post-tensioned slabs and band beams reduce concrete use by approximately 17%, while the landscape strategy maximises deep-soil areas within generous setbacks. Water Sensitive Urban Design principles, including passive irrigation, raingardens and appropriate filtration species, further reduce environmental impact and contribute to a resilient and adaptable precinct.

Blue Sky developed the wayfinding strategy, design and documentation to provide a clear, intuitive and cohesive navigation system throughout the carpark and surrounding precinct. Signage is carefully coordinated across all levels to provide concise directional information and assist users in locating entries, exits, pedestrian connections, amenities and parking areas. The strategy also incorporates dedicated EV charging signage, Welcome to Country signage, accessible parking identification, and a comprehensive suite of directional and regulatory carpark signage.

The signage colour strategy uses a consistent palette of deep navy, white and high-visibility red-orange accents, creating strong contrast against the concrete structure while reinforcing the architectural identity of the building. Directional signs feature clean rectangular panels with projecting coloured backing elements, while larger freestanding signs adopt a tall, monolithic form to provide strong identification and visibility from a distance.

Bold contemporary sans-serif typography is combined with simple, highly legible pictograms and directional arrows, including dedicated symbols for lifts, accessibility, parking and EV charging. Together, these elements establish a clear and consistent visual language that supports safe, efficient movement throughout the building while reinforcing its identity as a contemporary, inclusive mobility hub.
